MINUTES from meeting #10
The 10 meeting of the Norwegian Scotch Malt Whisky Society was held at the abode of Mr. Marc Berntssen on Friday 2. July 1999.
1) It was noted that Marc Berntssen's shirt was getting lighter for each meeting. Cufflinks were not observed in the shirts of Mr Berntssen, Mr Handal or Mr Bjaarstad. I am sure this will not occur again. Further points of order were that Mr Bjaarstad and Dr. Haldorsen were reprimanded for smoking cigarettes (the latter without a cigarette holder).
2) The whisky of the evening was an Irish Single Malt (Bushmills Malt) aged 10 years (triple distilled). Mr Berntssen gave a speech enlightening the other members of the alternative (Irish) malt whisky. This whisky is the only 10 year old single malt from Ireland and is reputedly from the world's oldest licensed whisky distillery (Old Bushmills licensed in 1608). The malt is un-peated and thus the smokiness associated with Scottish malts is absent from this whisky.
3) Mr Berntssen also supplied "Glenkinchie" (Edinburgh Malt, Lowland Scotch Whisky) which was 10 years old. Other whisky's sampled included 15 year old "Dalwhinnie" provided by Mr Jaunsen and 10 year old "Auchentoshan" (lowland single malt, triple distilled) supplied by Mr Haldorsen.
4) Mr Bjaarstad pointed out that there was far too much BH3 talk at the meetings - this will of course stop as of next meeting.
5) The majority of the members (with the exception of Mr Bjaarstad and Dr. Haldorsen) have adopted a new motto involving hand gestures. This behaviour is uncouth and ought to be reserved for more suitable venues (such as the BH3 club).
6) Mr Bjaarstad held on interesting acceptance speech regarding speech impediments associated with consumption of large amounts of whisky (speech enclosed).
7) Two members, Mr Bjaarstad and Mr Handal were formally accepted as full members of the Norwegian Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
8) The other members insisted that the following be noted: At 21.20 Mr Berntssen started removing his already questionable attire (according to Mr Handal there would have been no objections if Mr Berntssen had been of the opposite sex). It must be further noted that Mr Berntssen only removed his bow tie (thank God).
9) The next meeting will be held at the abode of Mr Bjaarstad on Friday 27 August 1999 at 7 p.m.
