MINUTES from meeting #17
The 17th meeting of the Norwegian Scotch Malt Whisky Society was held at the abode of Mr Bjarne Augestad on Friday 30 March 2000. The appointed host for this meeting was Mr. & Mrs. Dag Handal, but due to other commitments the venue was changed at short notice.
The guests were greeted by the host at the front door which was locked without further ado. This was due to the fact that on a previous meeting in the same general area of Bergen, some members were robbed of their wallets etc. during the meeting by a cat burglar.
Having taken over the responsibility for arranging the meeting, the host hadn't had enough time to prepare the required speech. This was quickly forgotten as he did a lot of talking during the meeting.
The Whisky of the Night was "Gordon & MacPahil Cask 1987" produced at the Bladnoch Distillery. The Whisky was distilled on 21 December 1987 and bottled in July 1998 from cask 4193 and 4194. The Whisky was of cask strength (58,4%).

Other Whiskies sampled by the distinguished members were Abelour and Bushmills.
Having partaken of some food stuffs and Whisky the members settled down for a discussion on how to improve society and a game of Bridge whilst sampling the music from a group calling themselves "UB40" (the was no Scottish music to be had anywhere in Mr. Augestad's abode).
Mr. Augestad played a mean game of Bridge and scored 108 points, whilst Mr. Jaunsen played a wise game of Bridge and scored 53 points. Mr. Haldorsen played a reckless game of Bridge and scored only 22 points.
The next Meeting will be held at the abode of Mr. & Mrs. Dag Handal at 7 p.m.
